Five-star luxury hotel, The Elysium, has reopened its doors following a four-month refurbishment. Located in the ancient archaeological city of Paphos, Cyprus, which has been declared the European Capital of Culture for 2017, adjacent to the historical Tombs of the Kings and the clear Mediterranean waters, The Elysium is the ideal resting place for culturally curious, business and leisure travellers.

Part of the luxury Hotel Group, Stademos Hotels Plc, The Elysium reopened in March 2017, following a four month refurbishment with a second luxury property, the AMARA, due to open in 2018. The hotel houses 250 suites and rooms, ranging from stylish Deluxe bedrooms, Royal Studios and Royal Garden Villas to the exquisite Thalia, Queen Verenikis and the Royal Suite.

Five gourmet restaurants showcase a variety of cuisines including Italian, Japanese and Cypriot. Overseen by Executive Chef Ciaran Gantly, each restaurant incorporates his passion for local ingredients, freshly plucked from the farm and served in daily dishes.

Those looking for relaxation can unwind at the celebrated Opium Health Spa, a little piece of paradise with effervescent waters and treatments by ESPA.

The Elysium is designed with tranquillity in mind and is centred around the statement outdoor swimming pool, which features an innovative multi-level design. Housing lush gardens, water features and a private beach cove, the hotel emits the feeling of harmony and seclusion. Inspired by the Byzantine era, the hotel incorporates an elegant palatial design with cultural references such as intricate mosaics, impressive arches and towering columns, embracing Cyprus’ rich history, influenced by Greek, Roman, Medieval and Venetian architecture.

Nestled amidst the hotel gardens, surrounded by the fragrance of nearby lemon trees, the Royal Garden Villas and Royal Studios are set around a traditional village-style square. A sunken swimming pool, bordered by a stone colonnade, in the heart of the square makes for a picturesque and romantic setting. For families, the Family Cyprian Maisonettes, Royal Garden Villas and the Elysium one or two Bedroom Suites are designed to offer a practical and stylish accommodation options while the hotel’s Royal Studios (adults only), set away from the main building, providing greater luxury and space for those seeking a tranquil retreat.

Guests at The Elysium can take advantage of the broad range of facilities and activities on offer, from Cultural performances at the Orpheus Amphitheatre to tennis and personal training on the hotel’s floodlit court and high-tech gym. For mini travellers, the Angel’s Kids Club caters to children from three to eleven and features a menu of creative and interactive activities for the little ones, offered complimentary to family guests from April to October, Easter and Christmas period.

The demure Byzantine-style Chapel at The Elysium provides the ideal location for those looking to tie the knot. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and holding up to 40 guests, the Chapel offers an intimate setting for couples to say “I do”. The hotel’s Business Centre houses the Basilica Grand Hall, which can accommodate between 15 and 400, offering delegates a spacious and exclusive location to conduct meetings.
