Italian Hospitality Collection is thrilled to announce that Chia Laguna, Sardinia, saw a record 60% rise in UK tourists visiting during 2016, versus a 15% average increase in Sardinia. This jewel of Sardinia’s southern coast has long been a favourite with British tourists but Italian Hospitality Collection’s five-year, approximately €50 million, investment plan into the resort has provided extensive refurbishments and service updates which have bolstered visitor figures higher than ever before.
Italian Hospitality Collection has also seen an 8% increase in client spending over the 2016 season, which indicates that the clientele is shifting more towards the more affluent and is testament to the investments that have been made, placing it amongst the most exclusive resorts in the Mediterranean.
The past years have seen the introduction of a myriad of new activities to the resort, including a children’s football academy hosted by Premier League footballers in partnership with Campioni. This year it will run for the third time with an impressive line-up of coaches including the legendary Yannick Bolasie and Andy Cole. A brand-new Campioni Dance Academy run by professional dancer Alexandra Gale will also be launched this year for those who are more rhythmically inclined.
Most recently, Chia Laguna announced that its Hotel Baia will reopen this season following a €15 million refurbishment, part of the €50 million five-year investment plan, with two new restaurants, a new bar, a semi-Olympic pool and 77 new rooms.
Grotta Giusti, one of the Italian Hospitality Collection’s three Tuscan spa hotels, has also seen refurbishments this year with 64 rooms, the bar, and restaurant receiving a lavish makeover. Several exciting new additions have also been made, including six dog-friendly rooms and a wine-tasting area. The refurbishments will be unveiled when the hotel reopened on 9th March 2017.
