Luxury watch brand A. Lange & Söhne has once again topped the “Wirtschaftswoche Luxury Ranking”, where the roster of Germany’s 30 most eminent luxury brands (including automobile, furniture, watch, jewellery, and fashion brands) is published by the business magazine every two years.
With 244 out of 300 possible points, the watchmaking company managed to increase its score by five points compared to the previous survey. The brand is not new to such accomplishments having already topped the ranking for 3 times in a row in 2007, 2009 and 2011 prior to this.
Apart from price indicators, the rating also includes brand appeal, the attractiveness of the brand from the consumers’ perspective. The Munich-based brand consulting firm Biesalski & Company conducted the ranking polls in co-operation with the agency Brand Network on behalf of “Wirtschaftswoche”.
The year has started off to a great start for the brand, following an exceptional 2013 seeing it receive two awards at the “Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève” for the 1815 RATTRAPANTE PERPETUAL CALENDAR during a gala event held at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva on 15 November.
The international 23-member expert jury selected it as winner in the category “Grand Complication”.
For the first time in the history of the competition, a non- Swiss watch brand was honoured in this category. In addition, the watch, introduced at the beginning of 2013, also received the competition’s “Public Prize”.
