The Green Pebbles Girls are always intrigued by the re-interpretation of materials and metals so we were delighted to discover the lovely ELENA ESTAUN.
We love how ordinary household items can be re-conceived, reformed and re-moulded to become eye-catching jewellery which can dramatically change the look of an outfit!
We are definitely fans of Elena‘s Mesh jewellery. The structure of the mesh is such that it ‘moulds’ perfectly around the wrist, neck etc , becoming one with the outfit and ensuring a snug and seamless fit.
Elena‘s jewellery could be defined as a mix between industrial and ethnic, in her own words:
“My jewellery could be considered as conceptual and experimental using materials such as rubber, silver and bones. I feel I am taking recycling to the next level“
Her bracelets using rubber embellished by precious skulls or simple bolts and screws add colour and texture to any outfit whilst also giving it a slightly quirky – outrageous slant which we find fabulous! Indeed, we would suggest wearing a three or four of them at the same time for a fantastic visual effect.
Most of the jewellery is one-size-fits- all, and the most defining pieces of the collection are probably Elena‘s Emblem rings made out of vintage keys from the US, turned into silver and embellished by small black diamonds.
Each ring is different from the other, as no key is the same as another. The chunky feel and the uneven surface makes them all the more attractive as the light catches different features from different angles with every movement of the hand.
