Fear not, it’s not a yet another take on the Gangham Style hit! It’s the latest innovative campaign by Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini for the Gucci Cruise Collection!
Giannini has teamed up with Japanese manga artist Hirohoko Araki to produce a manga to promote the new collection. The manga features one of Araki’s recurrent characters student Jolyne Cujoh who inherits a keepsake from her mother’s Gucci collection and faces a number of fantasy adventures.
The manga entitled “Jolyne, Fly High with Gucci”, echoes the sensual colour palette and graphic undertones of Giannini’s Cruise collection with symbolic references to the Maison’s iconic Flora pattern that has been reinterpreted in a number of the collection’s signature pieces.
