Some of the Green Pebbles Girls (one in particular) grew up watching Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn films giving them a taste of what natural understated and effortless elegance was all about.
Apparently we weren’t the only ones as when we met NADIA VIGNA the founder of MARIASOLE COUTURE we discovered that she too had grown up with these two style icons in her life and they were the inspiration behind the collection of evening gowns and cocktail dresses which have already graced several Italian fashion magazines as well blogs.
The collection of gowns was presented at the UNCONVENTIONAL WEDDING DISTRICT earlier this year which of course the Green Pebbles Girls attended and we were struck by the way the models appeared to be wearing clouds of silk chiffon which wrapped around their bodies only to then gather volume with the slightest gust of air.
Created by the brand’s Creative Designer MAURO PIGOZZI, it clearly has a modern woman in mind who is looking for understated elegance, yet still wishes to make a grand entrance.
The collection has been divided into two. The first Fleurs which as the name suggests offers us a beautiful selection of flower prints in strong vibrant colours, is a romantic, timeless collection – . The other, Blanc & Noir, plays on two contrasting colours white and black offering a collection which brings to mind the french riviera (a key inspiration of the collection) with stripes and polka dots which have already become a favorite with buyers.
Our favorite dress has to be the Aida with striking prints on stunning flowing silk organza which are rendered even more stunning by the 200 hand cut and hand sewn flowers on the neck line and on the hem.
The detailing on the dresses is exquisite and we particularly admired the handwork and seamstresses skills on the Coco dress which has a stunning sequin gecko which pins the dress and adds a bijou effect to the dress, as well as the incredible hand sewn bouquet of roses on the back of the transparent black top of the Ginger dress!
